AMNISTIA steht für düstere, tanzbare, elektronische Musik und folgt dabei nicht dem Trend der Clublandschaft. Kickdrums, Harte Basslines und Snaresounds, dezent aber effektiv gesetzte Samples und eine charakteristische Stimme zeichnen den Sound von AMNISTIA aus. Musikalische Vergleiche zu ziehen ist immer schwer, doch wer den Stil von Bands wie Front Line Assembly, Numb oder Skinny Puppy mag, muss diesen nicht zwangsläufig in Übersee suchen. Thematisch reflektiert die Band in ihren Texten Facetten der menschlichen Existenz. Zorn, Hass, Liebe und Zerrüttung – kurz das Leben an sich.
AMNISTIA wurde 2003 in Leipzig von Stefan Schœtz und Tino Claus mit dem Wunsch gegründet, Musik zu erschaffen, die ihren eigenen Stil hat und die sich keinen Dogmen unterwirft. Seitdem ist die Band auf dem Vormarsch und konnte sich bei vielen Konzerten und mit einer Hand voll CD-R- Veröffentlichungen in den letzten Jahren einen Namen in der Szene machen. In 2006 unterzeichnete AMNISTIA einen Vertrag mit SCANNER. Das erste Produkt dieser Zusammenarbeit ist das Album "Neophyte" (Scanner | SC 065). Die Band wird das Album ausgiebig live präsentieren und wer AMNISTIA schon live erleben durfte, weiß, dass es heiß hergeht.
Der Name AMNISTIA ist Programm und Philosophie zu gleich, bedeutet er doch in vielen Sprachen Begnadigung / Freispruch. AMNISTIA ist der Freispruch von der eigenen Trägheit und Untätigkeit, der Freiraum für Kreativität, Ventil und Werk und letztlich das Klang gewordene Urteil seiner Köpfe. |

It is always difficult to draw a musical comparison, but those who like the style of bands like Front Line Assembly, Numb or Skinny Puppy don’t have to search in Canada / US.
